GLACIER CLUB RESIDENCE

GLACIER CLUB RESIDENCE

DURANGO, COLORADO

This National Park lodge inspired home is playfully composed of indigenous natural materials, traditional vernacular roof forms, and large windows and doors.  Outdoor sitting and dining areas under gracious covered porches; generous overhangs; continuous stone flooring between inside and outside; large windows; and corner glazing create strong connection to the outside throughout the house.   Sliding corner door panels with no structural corner column allow the living room to flow out to a gracious patio with a fire pit for indoor outdoor living adjacent to a covered outdoor dining area with a fireplace.   A focal point of both interior and outdoor spaces is a water feature that flows around the home.  Interior stone walls, reclaimed timber beams, wood ceilings and stone floors are used throughout the inside of the home to seamlessly integrate the interior and exterior architecture of the home.
