PROJECT MANAGER

With nearly 20 years of architecture experience and construction experience as a carpenter, Courtney brings a unique perspective to the design studio. The mantra he utilizes from concept to construction documents was famously coined by Mies van der Rohe- “God is in the details”. 

Courtney’s career has largely focused on custom residential projects with additional involvement in large-scale resort, hospitality, planning, and commercial projects. The variety of design projects and styles with which Courtney has been involved, paired with his extensive design review board experience make him a valuable asset to the firm. Courtney joined Berglund Architects in 2021 and enjoys the collaborative atmosphere, in-person design sessions utilizing computer modeling software, and most importantly, the ability to place pen to paper. 



Courtney graduated from Southern Illinois University with a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Studies and became licensed in 2019. Originally from the Midwest, he has lived in the Vail Valley since 2000 and draws inspiration, both personally and professionally, from the mountain environment. Courtney is an avid cyclist during the warmer months and enjoys the usual winter mountain activities of skiing, snowboarding and après!
